Established in 1947, SEPOS is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) educational organization operating in accordance with official by-laws and under the direction of an eleven member Board of Directors.
Monthly member meetings feature informative lectures, the highly acclaimed SEPOS show table, food, fun and friendship. We meet September through June.
SEPOS hosts one of the largest International Orchid Shows in North America. In addition, members exhibit their plants at several other regional orchid shows.
Many experienced SEPOS members and AOS judges lecture at regional orchid societies and related organizations where they share their expertise in a range of subjects.
Monthly meetings include a new growers session. Experienced members share knowledge about culture and exhibiting. Time is allotted for Q&A from those with varying levels of experience.
Periodic visits to member and/or commercial greenhouses afford an opportunity to compare cultural techniques and share personal triumphs as well as frustrations.
Show proceeds support worthwhile projects around the world. Past recipients include ANSP, Jocotoco Foundation, NOC, AOS conservation fund, SERC , OCA, and ACEER .
The annual auction of purchased and member donated plants provides an opportunity to acquire quality plants at reasonable prices. Proceeds help fund the society's annual budget.
